I dont know if this is a problem with my router or with linux mint or both. However if i reboot the router the wifi will work with linux mint for a few hours and then it will drop and i will only be able to connect to it from windows. I am running a dual boot between linux mint and windows xp, and when in linux mint i cant connect to the wifi but it works fine from windows.
